About these items The tree climbing spurs are made from various high - strength materials like 42CMOR steel, Q609D steel, high - strength aluminum alloy, and 42CRMO steel. All are ASTM - F887 tested for deformation, supporting up to 350 lbs, ensuring stable climbs. However, they are not certified as fall protection equipment and are for positioning/utility use only. Soft EVA padding cushions the legs, absorbs shock, and molded plastic or thigh plates conform to the body. This provides long - lasting comfort during extended climbs. Adjustable hook - and - loop straps secure the spikes to the legs, reducing discomfort. Forged and heat - treated steel spikes can easily penetrate tree bark, offering excellent grip for stable climbing. All sets have an adjustable frame height, with ranges from 15.35 - 19.5 inches, allowing users of different heights to customize the fit. Most sets come as complete tree climbing kits, including a security harness (either sit - in or waist - type), a pair of climbing spikes, hook - and - loop straps, a utility rope, and in some cases, spike protectors, a hex wrench, and a drawstring bag.
